March to October, with April to September offering calmest seas and best visibility, often exceeding 20 metres. Temperatures of 27 to 32 degrees year-round. Turtle nesting peaks May to September. The island closes November to February when the monsoon suspends operations.
Speedboats depart Merang Jetty in Terengganu for the 90-minute crossing, with most resorts arranging transfers. Sultan Mahmud Airport (TGG) is 45 minutes from Merang, with daily KL flights taking 55 minutes. Berjaya Air runs seasonal flights from Subang to Redang's airstrip.
